A tribute to my mother and best friend, Betty Antonio
I've gone completely "loco!" On or about May 25th, 2015 I will be taking a year off my regular job and riding my bicycle around North America. Where I go depends entirely on the generosity of the folks visiting my website. By "generosity," I don't mean I'm bumming around with a f&*$^g cup in my hand; I mean I really appreciate a shower and a roof over my head for the night every once in a while. I'm dedicating this cycling adventure to my mother, Betty, who inspired so many over the course of her life as a painting teacher, friend, and devoted matriarch. My mission over the course of one year is to visit as many of her friends as possible and share the stories of how our lives were enriched by knowing Betty. Along the way I hope to see and reconnect with many of my own friends both old and new. I am developing this website to extend the invitation to be part of this undertaking. I have a basic idea of my route but my actual itinerary will be determined by the positive responses I receive from those who would like to host me for a night or two. If you are a cyclist and would like to join me for part of my ride then you can sign up here also. I love having company on the road. To be sure I am excited about this undertaking but I am also thrilled to see that others have taken an interest in my journey and there has even been an article published in iBerkshires about this ride.
It's simple. If you'd like me to add you to my itinerary just sign up here. I'll be notified by email and will modify my route as necessary to include your destination. Your location will be be automatically added to the Current Itinerary page of this website and a new pin marker will appear on my route map.
