Sponsorship
This is a low budget undertaking of which the primary focus is research and the pure experience of exploring the wilderness of Mongolia and the Altai Mountains. Participants are prepared to cover travel expenses and basic living costs. We are currently seeking, however, sponsorship in the form of equipment, expedition clothing, emergency food rations, and high calorific value snack fuel for a team comprised of a maximum of four hungry adults.
Specific gear the team needs to acquire:- Lightweight, expedition rated tent (preferably double wall construction with fast pitch option): Qty 2
- Compact, inflatable, durable packraft capable of carrying 2 adults: Qty 2 would be ideal but could probably get by with 1 Only one company takes the above product seriously (and Al-Betcha know who you are). We hope our venture is worth your consideration.
- Waterproof overshoes: Qty 2 pairs per packraft team
- ExtraWheel cargo trailer: Qty 1
- Highly compressable sleeping bag rated to 0-15 F: Qty 4
- Ultraviolet water purification unit: Qty 2
- Wood (or yak dung) burning backpacker stove: Qty 2
- Multi-fuel (liquid) backpacker stove: Qty 1
- Dehydrated emergency rations (to be repacked in reusable containers)
- Backup GPS receiver
- Harsh weather clothing (silk / wool base layers, upper / lower shells)
- Water-resistant still/video camera and memory cards
- High caloric energy bars, snacks, trail mix etc
